Gordon Dawkins is British. He studied Chemistry at Bristol University, where he also got his PhD. He then did Post-Doctoral studies in Lyon, France, working on homogeneous catalysis. Subsequently, he started his industrial career working on exploratory polyolefin catalysis in Grangemouth Scotland. Later he was transferred to Northern France to an Industrial site near Lille. There he worked on Expandable Polystyrene Process development, he was also responsible for the analytical laboratory and latterly for Product Stewardship. From France, he moved to Frankfurt, Germany, as the Global Product Steward Manager of Ineos Styrolution, where he has been working for the last 12 years. A central part of his work has been on the risk assessment of styrenic based food contact materials. He is also Chairman of the Plastics Europe Polystyrene HSE group.
